Nice but dated hotel

This is a nice hotel in a location slightly outside the city center. It is about a 5 minute walk to an underground station which makes it well connected though. The hotel itself is quite dated but well kept and clean. The check-in was pretty smooth and the staff wereThis is a nice hotel in a location slightly outside the city center. The check-in was pretty smooth and the staff were quite helpful. There is a breakfast for only 15 EUR per person which seems fair. I would recommend this place if you don't need to stay directly in the city center.

Good and bad, generally okay

We stayed at this hotel for a total of 6 nights as part of a tour package - 4 nights initially and then 1 night before flight to Madeira and 1 night before flight back to Canada.
The hotel is medium-sized in a fairly out of the way location.

The tour bus always had a challenge getting there and parking in such a way as to not obstruct traffic.
The room was on the small side, but had most of the amenities one could want: mini fridge, kettle, safe.
Our biggest issue with the room was the air conditioning didn’t work well (although this was only the case with the room we were assigned for the first 4 nights.). Also, there were no outlets near the bedsides, and since i use a CPAP machine, we had to
resort to using 2 power bars connected to each other to be able to plug it in (reception did provide these).
The breakfast buffet was a fairly good spread with all sorts of options - even delicious pasteis de nata (custard tarts).
To get to the centre of old Lisbon, the parque subway station is very close, especially if you follow the advice reception gave us and take a shortcut through a parking garage.
There is an Aldi supermarket close by, where we were able to pick up some bottled water and snacks. It is only a five minute walk, reception can give u directions.
In terms of restaurants, there’s one right across the street (Lydia) and a few more just a few minutes walk away.

Perfect for a city break

We booked a standard double room. We were on the third floor at the back of the hotel. Very quiet, we were able to have the window open. Spotlessly clean and room cleaned every day of our 5 night stay. Tea/coffee/ kettle/fridge all in the room. Towels changed daily. AirWe booked a standard double room. Tea/coffee/ kettle/fridge all in the room. Towels changed daily. Air con worked. There was piped background music in the room which was a bit odd, but we managed to turn it off. We had the breakfast option and it was excellent vfm. All that you would expect at a good hotel and food replenished as the trays emptied. Coffee/juices etc were also plentiful. The staff are all lovely. Very friendly and helpful. There is a small bar area which guests tend to use at the end of the evening for a nightcap. Usually sport (football) on the 3 screens.
The hotel is north of the main attractions but is just around the corner from two metro stations. It’s 3 stops into the popular tourist areas. We loved being slightly out of the main tourist area and walked safely to lots of restaurants and cafes. We also walked to park eduardo VII and the Gulbenkian museum. I have no hesitation in recommending this hotel for a city break.

Not Grand, but a good experience

After reading some pretty mixed reviews I was concerned about our 3 night stay. I need not have worried! It does not pretend to be what it isn't, but it is a comforrtable hotel in a good location, clean and well run. It does not pretend to be what it isn't, but it is a comforrtable hotel in a good location, clean and well run. I suspect in an official listing it would merit 3 stars but because of the really excellent breakfasts, friendly and helpful staff, the thorough room cleaning daily, the very handy location near sufficient bars, restaurants and transport links I think it deserves 4 stars. I have certainly stayed in so called 4 star hotels that are nowhere near as good. Yes, there is no evening restaurant and the bar is small, but it does not pretend to be other than a modest hotel just slightly (and only slightly, unless you want a place heavy in night life) off the beaten track with decent facilities, not luxury. It fulfills this role admirably and I would not have any hesitation in recommending it for a pleasant few days city break in Lisbon.

A lovely and very shiny Hotel but a bit out of the way.

This was a very elegant and beautifully designed hotel. The staff was very friendly and helpful, our room was very comfortable with a view over the garden terrace. It is in a rather out of the way location for all the main sights but we had no trouble calling aThis was a very elegant and beautifully designed hotel. It is in a rather out of the way location for all the main sights but we had no trouble calling a Bolt or taking the metro 3 blocks away. The breakfast was excellent.

Great value hotel, with friendly staff

Booked two rooms for a four night stay.
The first room was an upgraded(€25 per night) larger room with a queen bed, relatively modern and nice bathroom with toiletries. The second a single room but this had a nice outside balcony.

We found the reception staff, in fact all staff very friendly and helpful.
Breakfast was a mix of some warm dishes i.e quiche, bacon, beans and cold offerings like cheeses, pastries etc, all were regularly replenished and of good quality.
The location is slightly out of the hustle and bustle but a 20min walk downhill and a little longer back, the hotel is also on a bus route and taxis were around. A few good restaurants and shops were close by the area felt pretty safe and quiet.
The hotel has a nice outdoor area to just sit out and chill after a long day.
We had a late return flight and reception were more than happy to look after our cases once we checked out so we could enjoy the day.
Overall for the cost we thought the hotel was excellent, the nice breakfast and friendly helpful staff added to the experience and we will definitely stay here again.

Lovely hotel. We had a room with a large balcony with sun loungers on.

Trivialities but unusual for a 4 star hotel.
Porto is very hilly and the hotel a good 45 minute downhill walk to the river. A definite metro ride back.
Augusto restaurant nearby very well recommended, but closed Sunday and Monday

Hotel decor a little blingy and dark but clean . Room was small and dark but bathroom spacious and clean . Restaurant lovely with good buffet breakfast and good choice of evening meal. Beautiful hotel and good value

Located a short way outside the main tourist area of Porto but still a very nice hotel. Our room was not an expensive one by Porto standards but was large, with a vast balcony and the biggest bed I have ever seen. Perhaps a little too big.

Breakfast ticked all the boxes and the bar was everything required. I’m pleased to say the area around the hotel is very quite over night.
The city centre is about a 20 minute walk away, mostly down hill heading into town, but the metro system is so easy to use and the hotel is only 3 stops stops down the line.
It’s not often mentioned, but the housekeeping staff did an excellent job every day.
