Mitsis Bali Paradise Hotel

We booked the Bali Paradise as have previously stayed in Mitsi Hotels and they have been fantastic- sadly we were disappointed with this hotel. When booking we paid for a full sea view room and were told when we checked in that as the hotel was so busy we had been given a family room instead - after 2 conversations with reception we were eventually moved the following day as the family room was unacceptable. The small shower in our new room had a shower curtain and the furniture in the room and on the balcony was old and tatty - not what I would expect in a 4 * hotel and certainly not what I would expect in a Mitsis hotel. The bed was comfortable. The hotel seemed to favour its French guests and the entertainment was mainly in French. The bar served nice cocktails but the soft drinks tasted cheap and of chemicals. The Coffee was good but take your own tea bags if you are a tea drinker. There were plenty of sun beds and shades by the pool although some of the shades were broken. The hotel beach is a 5 minute walk from the hotel down a number of steps and the beach is shared with other users and although plenty of sun beds for hotel guests they are crammed in with no room to manoeuvre. Our chambermaid was the best member of staff, very attentive and smiley . The lady in the shop and the man at the hotel relations desk were also friendly . Plenty of food choices in the main canteen style restaurant and the one a la carte restaurant was good. A D&V bug was doing the rounds when we were at the hotel and took me down for 36 hours - many guests were ill . Dissatisfied with this Mitsi hotel and think some upgrades need to be done to get it up to Mitsi standard and 4* - we will not be returning.

We came as a group of 7 aged between 20 and 60. Firstly, the good points. The hotel is always clean, the staff always friendly and the food was of a good quality. The cocktails were the best that we have experienced in an all inclusive hotel. All were freshly made and minimal "quick syrups". The beach bar was surprisingly good with ice cream, hot dogs, toasts, baguettes, hot drinks, wine and beer. We also made good use of the free kayake many times. Now the not so good stuff.... This is not a hotel for the old or those with mobility issues. It is split over many levels with many steps and steep inclines/declines. There is just one lift in the main block. The beach is a 10-15 walk from the hotel. The walk is up/down many steps. No shuttle service is provided. The animation team is all geared up for a French audience. We are sat here now waiting for our bus to the airport in the main seating/patio area and we have not heard any English from them in over 20 minutes. The clientielle this week has been (from what we have witnessed) a mix of English, Polish, Lithuanian, and obviously French. So they do not unfortunately cater for all. The entertainment during the day is good. Limited only by the lack of participation by the guests! In the evening there is always something on. But, unless you're fluent in French, it may not really be much more than noise.... Speaking of noise, there is no music around the hotel in the evening. In fact, the PA system (note no plural) consists of two speakers that the animation team cart around the hotel, to three or four places a day wherever it is required. So with no music in the evening some guests bring their own speaker with them and then are told to be quiet soon after 22:30 when the entertainment finishes. It is a nice hotel. A bit dated in places, but at least clean. Would I recommend? No. That is, unless you can speak fluent French and like climbing! 😆

In our opinion it's not a 4star ,bad points not ideal for people with limited mobility lots of steep slopes and many steps into reception and rooms, there's not many rooms in main building mostly scattered away from everything, Toilet facilities inadequate for pool users had to walk a distance from main pool then down 2 flights of stairs, If you wanted to eat lunchtime you had to use restaurant, where a good poolside snack bar what be a better option, had two bars but only one open at a time, rooms need updating, sun loungers and parasols also needs updating Good points, reception staff very helpful ,food plentiful and most days good choice, always something to eat Pools always clean
