Mitsis Rinela Beach

Our Holiday at Mitsis Rinela was overall lovely. They have amazing facilities and had options for anything and everything for your every needs. The staff are very welcoming although on arrival and checkout times were a bit long. The waitresses and Bar Staff are friendly. Me and my fiancée would like to especially recognise Harris who was a reoccurring barman at the pool in evenings and on the beach. For who helped make our stay that much more special and helped us to celebrate our engagement after. (Thankfully they said yes) and Harris was incredibly kind, welcoming and overall just incredible. We got pool service and the BBQ and pizza oven by the beach was a great touch. I will forever yearn for the BBQ sauce from the BBQ Pit. The downside’s for us I would say was the late check-out procedure with not knowing till day of if you can have late checkout causing us to not get one and then stuck for 8hours waiting and also out catamaran excursion where we were not made aware of it being a hr journey to and another hr journey back from the port, and also advertised snorkelling but were only taken to areas with sand no sea-life of any kind. If we had known this we would have just booked one that is much cheaper and in Heraklion itself. We actually saw much more sea-life shore snorkelling off the beach at Mitsis Rinela. We both would like thank the hotel for their hospitality and plan to return in the future! Once again, massive thankyou to Harris for helping out stay be that much more special and wish him all the best!!

We stayed at the Mitsis Rinela for 6 nights beginning of October 2024. We had not tried the Mitsis hotels before but wanted options of restaurants for dinner and a hotel with a beach. My experience of this hotel is that it was good. I would consider the Mitsis hotels in the future. The good parts are nice rooms, lovely pool and beach area. Good service and a variety of drinks options. Lots of variety of food, from crêpes, pizza and barbecue food. Entertainment at night was not bad. We are a couple and ratio of families and couples was fine for us. We have opted for adults only in the past. The things to improve on is the food in the restaurants; it could have been better. Pan Asian probably had the most flavour, the food can be a little bland and not the best quality. As echoed in other reviews there are a lot of steps. Please consider this if any mobility issues as it would be a struggle. Also there are lots of planes that fly over, not an issue for us but something to bear in mind. The bus to Heraklion is handy, bus stop right outside of the hotel, 2 euro pp each way and can do a bit of shopping. Overall we had a nice stay, would consider again.
