LABRANDA Bronze Playa

The room smelt damp & musty. Sink dripping from underneath, had to put glass there to catch the water. Water/leak behind toilet. Dirty floor, as if not swept or mopped before we arrived. Pedal bin foot pedal missing rubber and had dangerous spike. Holes in pillowcase. Food prepared ok but a bit repetitive. The white wine and beer often ran out before the end of the meal session. Bar snacks were not the best. Some staff could be a bit friendlier. Smoking area was too close to non-smoking and in any case people sometimes smoke in non-smoking areas without being challenged. A four star hotel should have entertainment every night, not just three nights a week. Reception staff were friendly and helpful but one was quite abrupt. There was no mention of the weekend day pass guests when we booked, it made the pool area particularly busy with a number of inflatables in the pool.

We have just returned home from a 10 night all inclusive stay with our 2 boys, 9 and 6. Safe to say we all had a great time. We couldn't find many reviews so wanted to add one to help others out there.....sorry it might be a bit long! We arrived about 11.30pm so were all very tired. The staff at reception were brilliant and there was even some food left out in the restaurant for us. The room was lovely and clean and space room for us all. We didn't pay for a pool view room and were fine with our balcony leading out to the main street. Our room was cleaned and tidied every day with towels. We had to ask how to use the safe but was simple once the staff at reception explained. We also had to ask for the WiFi but once given the password we had great coverage throughout the whole of the hotel. The pool area was lovely with lots of sunbeds, you are asked not to reserve until 9am. Mon-thurs there is lots of choice. We found that Fri-sun a lot of local day visitors come to the hotel, therefore it is much busier. You may want to get up and reserve a sunbed if you want to be close to the pool on these days. We found the food really good. Breakfast was a great choice of cereal, breads, fruits, cold meats, cheeses, salad, full English and eggs and pancakes cooked by a live chef. Coffee, a selection of teas and juices all from a help yourself machine. Lunch and dinner were quite samey, but what was available was of good quality. Salads, cold meats, cheeses, pasta, potatoes, rice, meat and fish dishes. Evert night the live chef was cooking chicken and fish. Always a selection of fruits and deserts and ice cream with sauces. Soft drinks, hot drinks, beer and wine available to help yourself. Fri-sun there was also delicious pizza available. The location was great, 10min walk to the beach and main tourist area of playa d'lingles, including restaurants, bars and shops. Our one slight disappointment was the entertainment. The entertainment runs tues-sat. During the day there is aquarobics, bingo and a mat to run on in the swimming pool. For the duration of our stay there was only 3 evenings of entertainment. Would have been nice for some children's entertainment and something on most nights.

We booked this holiday last minute so possibly should have read some of the reviews a little bit more. Distance from the airport is great. 30 mins in a taxi. Location in terms of beach and town is perfect. Rooms were very clean. We are a family of three and we had a nice area for myself and my husband whilst our son had a semi closed off room. Air con was a blessing. We had a sea view and a view of the pool which was lovely. We couldn’t sit on the veranda as the air conditioning unit was situated on the balcony. It blew out hot air so was absolutely boiling. Entertainment was a bit of a con. Evening was Friday and Saturday, not amazing for the peak period. They have a board with lots of things going on which we didn’t see. Games, bingo, blah blah most happened once or twice if that. To be honest we just wanted to relax but it wouldn’t be great for people with lots of kids or teenagers. They would be bored. The food was ok, there are no food labels saying what the food is so be careful if you have allergies. One of the chefs was awful to me and my son on pizza night. He was very aggressive and literally made me sob for an hour. I’m not a softy it just took me by surprise how rude he was. Though the other staff dealt with it very quickly and were really kind. But, it just left our second to last night a bit tainted. The hotel also does day passes at the weekend. We had some issues with the locals moving our bedding when we went for lunch. We couldn’t play ball games in the pool when the day passes were there as they deemed it too busy. Slightly annoying as we had paid a lot for our holiday. Overall ok, clean but we won’t be going again
