Hotel AF Valle Orotava

We had a family room. Lovely spacious so we didn't get on top of each other. Beautiful views, clean and tidy, balcony was large. Swimming pool one was lovely and warm, the other was colder this had the disability lift in. The sunbeds dont raise up at the back you have to lay flat all the time . Food was lovely, plate were mucky with dried on food. Staff were very helpful and friendly, they allowed us into the dinning hall 15 mins before it opened so we could decorate the table for my parents 60th wedding anniversary, they even blew some extra balloons up for us. The only down side to it was the set up of the bathroom. The way it is set up the bath is in the room. The toilet door is made of glass so you can see each other on the toilet, if you need to poop dont be trumping as everyone can hear everthing and the shower isn't private either. The twin rooms if you catch the angle wrong when looking in the mirror you can see people on the toilet.

We stayed here for our holiday to Tenerife, fine hotel, has everything you need. The rooms were well sized and we had a balcony with oceanview. Since the hotel is located more to the center, the ocean is a bit further away. Allthough the room was clean and kept clean daily, when we arrived there was still hair on the showerwalls, not just one, but a whole bunch. We asked the cleaning lady if she could take care of this, she said she would, but didn't, when we arrived back in the hotel, the hair was still there, so pressure washed it away with the shower. Also, they have a nice big rainshower, but it is on tiny people level, me and my wife are above 1.80m and couldn't stand under it straight up. And ofcourse, but that is a worldwide thing I guess, when showering the water flowed towards the toilet. At least no nasty shower curtain, but I still have to find the hotel that actually has a watertight shower. And one day when we were gone the whole day, the room wasn't cleaned and also no new towels, so we had to go to the reception to at least get some clean towels. Also worth mentioning, but that is more of an preference thing, the wall to the shower/toilet is partially glass, so no real private toilet visits. The staff of the hotel were really nice and friendly and helpfull. The breakfast was also nice, enough choice. A bit noisy room when lots of people attend, but nothing a noise canceling headphone can't fix. The hotel didn't have a private parking lot, but there is lots of parking space around, allthough, parking is free all around Tenerife, but also very crowded. We were lucky one time that someone left just in front of us, All other times we could park at a public parking space nearby, which also is free, unless you have something to share for the homeless people there that act as if it's their place and urge you to pay them for provided services. Which mostly consisted of passively aggressive point where you can park and how you have to turn your steering wheel.
