Regent Warsaw Hotel

This is supposed to be a 5 star hotel , the rooms are nice , pillows need to be updated , the bathroom is a nice size, Breakfast is good but for some reason when you book with breakfast only 1 person gets breakfast 🤷‍♀️ a little bet strange when they are 2 people, the additional cost for 1 person is 110 polish money , the gym is amazing but the ac is set to 23 degrees, which is way to hot for a gym , when asked they said it was the coldest they can make it , when asked for a fan they did provide one but the girl at the front desk does not liked to bothered, not very good service for a 5 star hotel , breakfast is lovely , there is a bus stop in front of the hotel which makes it very convenient to get anywhere, overall nice but not a 5 star

Had a stay at Regent Warsaw Hotel from 4th August -9th August 2024. I have sent an email with my experience directly to Regent Warsaw Hotel 3 weeks ago and never heard a thing. Never have I been so disappointed in a 5-star hotel. When I had arrived in my room, I turned off the air-condition. Never use it where I sleep. When turning off the air-condition it started making an extreme noise like a river running in the room – very loudly. It kept on going and didn’t disappear. I was soon aware of that I would not be able to sleep in that room, so I went to the reception to tell them about the problem. Told them that I didn’t sleep with an air-condition on and that despite it was turned off it made an extremely noise because of the cooling liquid. They sent a technician to my room at once. Perfect service so far. When I came back to my room the solution of the technician was to turn back on the air-condition. Went back to the reception and once again described the issue. I was soon offered another room. As a matter of fact, I was taken to two different rooms I could choose between. The issue was the same in both rooms, but the noise seemed on a lower level, so I picked one of the rooms. I was told that they were aware of that several rooms had this noise issue from the air-conditions. When I returned to the room in the evening the noise had become extreme on the same level as in the first room I was given. I couldn’t sleep because of the noise. So, I went out and bought a set of ear plugs the next day. That didn’t help me through the following nights. My sleep was destroyed each night during the stay. When you are aware of that rooms have this issue, why are a 5-star hotel then assigning guests to the rooms? And why didn’t they make a follow up on my situation now they were aware of it? We were happy to use the pool. A very nice and enjoyable area. But we were disgusted by the fact that hardly any of the guests had taken a shower before they entered the pool. Their hair wasn’t wet, nor their swimwear and there was no water drops on their bodies. Despite a huge sign before leaving the locker rooms stating that it was an obligation to have taken a bath before entering the pool. But what made it all worse was that the life saver who was present times didn’t address this issue to the guests. The steam bath was in maintenance mode during all of our stay which we were extremely disappointed about. Maintenance mode means that it’s only down for a short time. The right wording would have been: Out-of-order. One morning someone had forgot to turn the sauna on. So, it was cold. The gym was very nice as well. Another morning of our stay a guest destroyed the breakfast completely for a lot of people without any intervention from the manager. The guest had decided to have an online meeting in the breakfast room. Not even eating breakfast. He had setup his computer and was wearing his headset and was screaming and shouting during his online meeting. All the guests were looking annoying at the guy. We could see that the manger was aware of the situation, but he decided to do nothing. When leaving breakfast that morning we told the manager that we did not find this behavior of the guest acceptable and was met with a “We hope it has not destroyed your stay”. It did however destroy many guests breakfast that morning. Hotel was nice and clean. But maybe time has passed where a phone right beside the toilet is something that’s needed. Breakfast was excellent! It should however be mentioned that the guy who took care of the lounge on 5th floor was extremely friendly. So was the young guy who took care of it Thursday. The same for the lady who checked us in when we arrived. This was our experience at your hotel. Unfortunately, that did not make up for the overall impression of the stay.

This hotel is decent but it’s not a 5*. Maybe an average 4*. The decor is very beige, reminding me of the 90s. I feel like they need to freshen up the colour palette a bit. The restaurant is nice but it’s confused. They have posh food on the menu but also pizza? I think the hotel would make more money if they changed the restaurant from a posh restaurant with staff in suits to a casual dining area which can be both elegant and casual. What’s the point in having a posh restaurant if people come in wearing caps and hoodies? People don’t want posh food when staying in a hotel, they want everyday stuff - and 5* hotels can rock that vibe if done well. Saying all this, the pizza was very nice, done in a proper oven. The pool area wasn’t what I expected. In a 5* hotel you expect the pool area to be relaxing and luxurious but it was giving leisure centre vibes. The sauna was very nice and warm but the steam room was off. And the decor in the sauna area was much to be desired. Could’ve done with some soothing music too. Now the main thing that ruined the hotel for me, the pillows. I can’t lie flat due to health reasons so I needed 2-3 pillows. Even with 3 pillows, they all just sunk in on themselves so I didn’t feel elevated. It was not a comfortable sleep because of this. I wouldn’t stay at this hotel because of the pillows. Such a shame because the bathroom was bangin’. The bath was a lovely touch. And the staff were lovely of course! So all in all, this hotel is more of a 4* and needs to be refreshed in terms of decor around the hotel. Please god get rid of the browns and beiges. Also liquid hand soap would be better in the bathroom - solid soap gives 3*.
