Comfortable Hotel in downtown calgary

We stayed one night in this hotel as part of our road trip . The hotel is situated in downtown calgary .which is ideal for the airport. The hotel has underground parking which is ideal and probably the safest option due to the location. The hotel is very comfortable, clean and modern. There are good options for breakfast, lunch and dinner within the hotel. Staff are very friendly and helpful. The rooms are well appointed, clean and tidy. Modern decor and amenities. This makes up for it's location. There is a high level of homeless and drug abuse by people on the streets which can have an unsettling effect on tourists . I personally did not feel comfortable to explore the city because of this . However ,this is not the hotels fault . The hotel has security in place that moves any potential troubles on . I would have given 5 stars only for this homeless/drug abuse area/problem.

Great front desk service

1. Great front desk service (especially Kateryna) 5 stars2. Breakfast: food 3 stars. Service by Roy 5 stars3. Room: 3 stars. Housekeeping 3 stars ( usually done late in the afternoons after informing the front desk despite requesting housekeeping daily).4. Not ideal location: many homeless, mentally ill people wandering the streets, felt unsafe. Near to 2 homeless shelters.

Great option if you’re going to a Flames game

Roughly 10 minute walk to the Saddledome. Some typical downtown core “scenery” but security was unobtrusive yet visible. Staff at check-in were excellent. Room was perfect. Comfy beds, and very very quiet. I was on 9th floor in a corner. That’s my third stay and I’d recommend it.

Modern city centre hotel

This is a very nice modern hotel. BUT...the heating/ac system is not possible to turn off and comes on every 30 minutes or so and is so loud it wakes you up, it's like having a generator on your bedside table. My friend in another room was similarly affected. Everything else here is good. I would definitely not stay here again unless assured the real problem has been rectified.

The stay itself was very good! reception staff were helpful, and the room was comfortable and clean.Unfortunately, the on-site restaurant and lounge experience did not meet expectations. The food at The Cannery was noticeably stale and left me feeling unwell afterwards.Additionally, the “lounge” is simply part of the lobby and did not feel relaxing or welcoming. A shame, as we were hoping to unwind before our flight.
