Must stay at when in Rome!

Brilliant place to stay in Rome. In the residential area of San Giovanni, it is away from the tourist traps of the historical centre, yet also a short bus or tube ride away. A bus from the opposite the hotel is a 5-minute journey to the Colosseum, a tube stationBrilliant place to stay in Rome. A bus from the opposite the hotel is a 5-minute journey to the Colosseum, a tube station (San Giovanni) 5-minute walk and at the end of the street, on the main lines from the other sites of a superb city. Plenty of restaurants and cafes in the area and also a short walk from Re di Roma, offering other lovely eateries.
The hotel has everything you need, nice and welcoming lounge, spacious rooms, excellent breakfast, but the pride of the hotel is the superb service and friendly and professional staff, who cater for every need. It is always and was evident of the amount of regular and repeat guests, who know and get a great welcome from the staff, which says everything.

Stayed at this Hotel for 5 nights in July, as part of a package with Jet 2 - Hotel is easy to find and simple to get to / from all the attractions in Rome - the metro is a 10 minute walk away and a 7 day ticket onlyStayed at this Hotel for 5 nights in July, as part of a package with Jet 2 - Hotel is easy to find and simple to get to / from all the attractions in Rome - the metro is a 10 minute walk away and a 7 day ticket only costs around £20 (includes buses and some local trains too - take note TFL etc). Hotel reception is a couple of flights of stairs up, or you can use the small lift - reception has a large seating area and the staff are very helpful and friendly and will put up with attempts at Italian, or speak English very well. Check in took about 3 minutes and our room was on the 6th floor, which there is a lift to get too (or stairs if you do not want to wait for the lift).
Room is fairly large, huge bed, a single bed and plenty of storage space - bathroom was clean and modern and the shower was fantastic. Room has a TV, safe, Air Con and tea/coffee facilities. There is a mini bar fridge with reasonable prices is you use it - or enough space for some water/juice cartons.
Breakfast is on the 8th floor, and the breakfast room has a wonderful view over Rome. Breakfast is excellent, very wide choice and staff are very helpful.
Hotel is situated on a main road, but there is limited noise at night - usually tired out from exploring Rome to notice any noise ! Aircon is brilliant when you get back from walking round Rome in 40c temp.
There is some food available in the Hotel or there are plenty of places within a few minutes of the hotel. There is a great supermarket over the road for drinks/snacks/fruit etc
Decided to get a taxi back to the Airport when we left (used the Terravision bus/metro when we arrived) and the hotel arranged a private minibus taxi for 60 euro, which was brilliant - door to Airport in about 35 mins.
I have no hesitation in recommending this Hotel and will be planning to stop here again in the future.

We were booked in here by a family member for a wedding - we had 7 rooms altogether. All were so clean and the beds were huge! The air-con worked perfectly.

Breakfast was included and excellent: the service was so warm and friendly, I felt I was in the best 5 star hotel! We had two coeliacs in our party who were catered for with delicious alternatives.
Everyone was so helpful, we were all so impressed. (I have given 4 stars because of the small lift for a max of 4 persons, etc…)

We stayed here two days before a cruise and one day after a cruise in June 2024. It's a nice, clean hotel and served its purpose. The staff was very friendly and helpful with questions we had. Yes, the rooms are small, and the elevator is small.We stayed here two days before a cruise and one day after a cruise in June 2024. It's a nice, clean hotel and served its purpose. The staff was very friendly and helpful with questions we had. Yes, the rooms are small, and the elevator is small. Just make it work people. There is a taxi stand out and to the right across the street. The bus stop is right across the street. The staff can sell you a 90 minute ticket. We did not use the metro, but I believe it is a couple of blocks away. There's a few restaurants nearby that seem more authentic and reasonable than those near sightseeing areas. Some are closed in the late afternoon until 7:30 because they eat later there. We ate at Pepe's around the corner a few times and really liked it. You will pay for a bottle of water, about 2.50-3.50 euros everywhere. There's also convenient stores and a pharmacy nearby. There's bar service from 7PM-9PM in the lobby, first round is free. There's breakfast in the morning til 9AM that we ate at every morning that was very good. Scrambled eggs, bacon , ham slices, cheese, fruit, various pastries, juice, milk, coffee. Nice staff there too, and a nice view.
Check-in is at 1PM, but we got lucky and our room was ready at 11:30 both times.
The A/C in the room was nice to have after walking around in the heat all day.
We rode bus 87 from across the street down to the Coloseum for $1.40 euro I think, bought the ticket from the front desk, scan it on the machine when you get on. From there we walked to other areas. But there are other times we needed taxis for various reasons. If you're good at dealing with mass transit, you can get around Rome fairly easily it seems.
One thing we're told by the taxis, I suppose is true, is the hotel is not in the central (within the Aurelian Wall) of Rome, so the rate will go up some, even though it is VERY close. Currently, it's 50 euros from the airport to hotels in the city center, it was 65 for us. A ripoff, but not the hotel's fault. Be very careful dealing with taxis, they will try to rip you off one way or another, or say they don't take credit cards etc. so they can raise the rate. Best to use an app, they don't have Uber drivers I don't believe, but the app links to the Italian taxi app that locks in the payment within a certain range, so that's the best way. Taxis usually don't stop when hailed, they stop at taxi pool areas.
But our stay was nice, and the staff definitely helped with our American questions. Thank you to them. Every shift we interacted with was helpful. Definitely a good deal we thought, and I would stay there again.

A wonderful few nights in a vibrant part of Florence, easy access to everything we wanted to do and see…the Hotel was charming, staff just lovely. We spent four wonderful nights at Boticelli. We were warmly greeted in the cozy lobby and checked in. The reception desk went over the complimentary breakfast, WiFi and other amenities such as the 2nd floor terrace. We were welcomed in our room with a kind, handwritten note from hotel management which is a simple and warm touch.
Our room was big enough - this is old Florence, rooms aren’t huge. The air condition, safe and bathroom accessories all worked well. The bed was comfortable
Note, we were an inside the room. Other rooms facing the outside may have more noise because of the street and the market nearby.
After a quick refresh we hit the town and walked everywhere the duration of our stay. The location makes it easy for first timers in Florence. The main road goes straight to the famous bridge with jewelry shops, Ponte Vecchio. There are ample restaurants, convenient stores and shopping all in close proximity.
Coming back to the air conditioning was a relief from the 32 degrees sun.
Breakfast was always a great start to the day. Ample options and gracious staff.
My wife recommend and plan on returning to the Hotel Boticelli.
Note - if you want a very large room with suites or couches for multiple people, I would find a newer or farther removed hotel from the city center.
Tips - for the best rate, book directly through the hotel website.
- Also during summer months, explore and tour early and late and have a lunch/early dinner (or both) during the mid day.
- Trattoria Zà Zà is a MUST. To avoid long lines, go around 4-6 pm. Only 80 meters away!

The room was smaller than expected - not much space round bed however it was really clean and we had a very comfortable bed and pillows. There was a lot of noise from adjacent rooms - loud flushing of toilets and could hear conversations. We could also hear the lift from our room however it is always a bonus if there is a lift in the older style hotels!
There was a really good complimentary breakfast (chocolate croissants especially delicious) and we also received a complimentary bottle of Prosecco as part of our booking which was much appreciated. Staff were really friendly and welcoming, and the location is perfect for exploring Florence.

Fab hotel on the Grand Canal near the bus station

What a fantastic place! We stayed here for 3 nights for our anniversary in August. It was perfectly placed for lots of reasons.

1) It’s a 5-10 minute walk from Piazzale Roma where we got off the bus from the airport. I would recommend booking to AVTO bus from the airport - €10 each way, far cheaper than a water taxi and air conditioning and a 20 minute journey.
2) It is really close to Fondamente Nove which is where you can catch the water taxi to Burano, you must go and visit this!
3) It’s about a 25 min walk to St Mark’s square. Our aim was to walk and walk and see as much of Venice as we could - and we did!
The whole experience was great, we received complementary drinks for our anniversary and the room, while a little small, was modern. The bed was comfy and the shower great.
Breakfast in the morning was fab - loads of choice and the chance to have it looking out onto the Grand Canal.
Staff was always so helpful and courteous. Would most definitely recommend staying here.

I stayed at CHC Continental Venice Hotel in July, 2024 as part of a group tour that ended in Venice, Italy. It is located in a fantastic spot just off the Grand Canal and near the train station. It is located in a fantastic spot just off the Grand Canal and near the train station. I very much enjoyed my stay here. The room was very clean & comfortable and had all the necessities I wanted. The front desk employees were very friendly and helpful. I had breakfast there and it was very satisfactory. Leaving the hotel you go 10-15 steps to the right and you can start walking to all the shops, cafes and restaurants. Since this was my last stop on the tour, I just walked outside the hotel to catch a water taxi to the airport to go home. I would definitely return to this hotel on my next trip to Venice.

The junior suite we booked was pleasant but pretty basic. The hotel is right on the bank.
Very very central but not noisy at night as the balcony door seemed to offer good sound proofing.
Air conditioning very effective on both floors.
The bathroom is small and the shower is quite tired with an awkward door that doesn’t shut well and bangs into the toilet on opening but it’s otherwise fine.
Bed is comfy and tv on both floors.
Some UK channels.
Room cleaning schedule a little erratic eg: they cleaned when we had not put the room sign on the door but not when we had been out of the room for 8 hours with the room sign on the door.
Staff friendly but some are clearly sick of tourists.
We always go for the overly friendly approach to counteract that ☺️
Overall a good stay and great spot from which to be able to stroll around Venice.

This small family-run hotel provided a wonderful stay in Ischia to our family of four. The rooms are a bit outdated but clean and comfortable. Good breakfast included makes this a great budget option when visiting the island. Great location on bus route and convenient free onsite parking available. This is a warm, welcoming family-run hotel on the north coast of the island. We arrived after 18 hours of travel and were welcomed, checked in and given a map and a quick rundown of the nearby terme where we could expect discounts for being hotel guests. We got a spotless and neatly-appointed corner terrace room facing the Mediterranean - score! And though we arrived at the very tail end of the dinner service we got seated and had a sensational dinner of fried local sardines, pasta, homemade lasagne and wine, with aperatif following - all in time for us to go back to our room and collapse from exhaustion! Wonderful to be treated like family so far from home, even knowing practically zero Italian - highly recommended!

Not overly impressed.

Single room - Ridiculously small and very dark. Had to climb over bed to draw curtains. Absolutely hated having to go back there. It was depressing! Shower unit also extremely small. Be aware, it was nothing like the room shown on their website. A total let down!

Sun terrace ( level 6) - Although I managed to easily acquire a sun lounger at 09.00 most mornings, I was twice refused entry by an extremely sullen cleaner because they were ‘cleaning it until 10.00’. I don’t understand why it could not have been cleaned after 18.00 the day before. Be aware of this if you want to catch some early morning rays! There was however always several loungers available.
Water - Although water was available at breakfast, it was only available by the bottle at a price of €3 in the evening. (Purely another way to extract extra cash from travellers).
Food - Breakfast selection was amazing. Several lovely types of sliced bread and bread rolls. Hot options including bacon, fried and scrambled eggs and sausages. Also, fried potatoes and green beans.
Cold meats and cheese also available along with several types of fruit and pastries. Coffee machine made a fantastic lungo coffee.
Starters at dinner were really delicious, however the main courses I found less so. Sauces with meats were often very sweet and I once had duck which I literally could not cut. It was inedible. Deserts were also extremely sweet.
The hotel was extremely clean.

We would highly recommend this lovely hotel! We went for our golden wedding anniversary and it was an amazing and excellent choice! The situation is superb! The staff are so friendly helpful and accommodating! They made our stay really special! The staff in the Sky bar were exemplary so charmingWe would highly recommend this lovely hotel! We went for our golden wedding anniversary and it was an amazing and excellent choice! The situation is superb! The staff are so friendly helpful and accommodating! They made our stay really special! Wonderful hotel

This hotel was wonderful. Old world charm with modern amenities. Our room was large and had a balcony overlooking the front of the hotel, which was great for people watching! There are multiple areas in the hotel to relax, whether in the sun, shade, pool or hotThis hotel was wonderful. Old world charm with modern amenities. Our room was large and had a balcony overlooking the front of the hotel, which was great for people watching! There are multiple areas in the hotel to relax, whether in the sun, shade, pool or hot tub.
The breakfast has something for everyone and the staff is excellent; Dino's smile can light up the room.
Perfect location - just a 5 minute walk from the city center.

The Michaelangelo is an ideal place to stay in Sorrento. The Hotel is located just outside the town centre so is close to all areas. The rooms are clean and well maintained. It has everything you need for your stay - a swimming pool, 2 roof solariums with dipping pools to cool off in. A roof bar and great restaurant. The staff are friendly, really welcoming and helpful. Would highly recommend a stay here.

Nice hotel in Sorrento

Very nice hotel, centrally located near shops, restaurants, and Porto. All staff were very friendly. Good size rooms with comfortable bedding. Our room, 410, however , was lacking in a WiFi connection. This was addressed multiple times as a Wi-Fi was a hit and miss issue in that room andVery nice hotel, centrally located near shops, restaurants, and Porto. All staff were very friendly. This was addressed multiple times as a Wi-Fi was a hit and miss issue in that room and made it very frustrating.. The hotel did offer apologies and gave us a bottle of champagne.. nice gesture, but I would’ve liked a discount on our bill instead of the gift. I would return, however, but would never stay in that room.
