The Hotel Villa Durrueli has Comfort , Superior , Superior Sea View rooms , rooms with mini gym and Junior Suites . Excellent a la carte breakfast where you can enjoy the original Ischia Cornetto , handcrafted in our pastry laboratory. The Aragonese Restaurant, located on the third floor of the Hotel, offers gourmet cuisine and is also open to customers who are not staying in the Hotel. The Hotel Villa Durrueli has a spa (Turkish bath, Kneipp path, small hot water pool , relaxation area), and an outdoor pool with water at room temperature . Thanks to the short distance from the Port of Ischia , the Hotel is convenient for reaching the embarkations for Naples , Capri and Procida on foot

Location: The hotel is well located, a short walk to Ischia Ponte, which is full of shops and restaurants. Ischia Porto, which is also very lively and the transportation hub, is a 20-30 min. walk. The beach (Spiaggia dei Pescatori) is a 5 min. walk. Contrary to what the website suggests, there is no private beach.
Getting around: To reach the hotel from the port, a taxi is a fixed rate of 15 euro. The #7 bus stops a few streets from the hotel but I would not recommend it if you have luggage. You can reach all points on the island from the bus terminal at the port. I was glad we did not rent a car as the streets are narrow and traffic is crazy.
Room: We were in a superior room with "garden view" which was mostly blocked by a big tree in front of our small balcony. I suggest you ask for a corner room if you want the best views. The room was an adequate size, clean and comfortable. However the bathroom was extremely compact with minimal counter space and amenities provided.
Property: The pool area is lovely. The pool itself is not pristine but the water was clean and refreshing. A shout out to Mario at the pool bar who makes a personal connection with all guests.
Breakfast: Is served a la carte rather than as a buffet, a smart idea as it avoids waste, not to mention overeating! You can order anything you want off a menu that includes baked goods, meats, cheeses, eggs, and fruit. The menu stays the same but there are enough options that you can try something different every day.
Finally, try to connect early in your visit with the Guest Services Manager. We didn't get to meet her until our final morning but she seemed eager to help out guests.

Relaxing and lovely

We only stayed for 48 hours but the experience was great.
First, we were upgraded (we didn’t ask, it was offered as a treat!) to a junior suite which we were so grateful for as it was large and we had been staying in such small rooms up until then. RoomWe only stayed for 48 hours but the experience was great.

Hotel staff were lovely, nothing was too much trouble.
The hotel itself was small and felt intimate.
We didn’t sit by the pool but looked nice and had a drink at the pool bar, with excellent service.
We had our 45 mins in the spa. The other reviews are right when they said it was a bit tired but we enjoyed it nonetheless.
Local area is great for shopping and eating out, but do try the hotel restaurant if you can. We had a lovely meal and it felt quite special, and all the staff in the restaurant, along with the chefs worked so hard to make it an enjoyable experience.
Whilst this hotel is a 4 star, it easily achieves this rating. We would stay again.

This upmarket hotel is situated amidst the splendid gardens of Sorrento. Guests are able to enjoy an impressive panoramic view of Naples' famous coastline. The city centre is just a few minutes from the hotel. The beach and the tourist centre are both 500 m away. Naples' airport is around 45 km away.

Mixed feelings regarding this hotel. We found the reception staff quite disappointing - with the exception of one lady, they didn't come across as being particularly friendly or happy to help, although knowledgeable and efficient. We were also disappointed with the room - even allowing for the fact that there was only a standard room available when we booked we felt it was very basic for a 4 star hotel, particularly in terms of storage space available - a lot of our clothes had to remain in our suitcases for our 9 night stay - and the walls were very thin. The noise from the adjacent room didn't particularly bother us but might be a problem for light sleepers, Breakfast we also felt was disappointing - whilst plentiful, the choice of food was limited compared to other hotels we've stayed in. On the first morning we requested poached eggs - it took 40 minutes for my husband's to arrive, and a further 10 minutes for mine to be served. There were also issues with luke warm coffee in open topped jugs being served. Staff were very friendly in the restaurant, there just seemed to be a lack of efficiency.
On the positive side, service/food at dinner on the two nights we dined in the hotel was excellent, and all areas of the hotel were spotlessly clean.
The hotel is located up a fairly steep hill but we didn't find walking down to/back up from the town a problem, and there is a free shutttle bus that runs runs at approximately 90 minute intervals throughout the day/evening.
Overall, for what we paid and compared to some hotels in Sorrento I would recommend it - it just didn't meet the standard of other 4 star hotels stayed in previously.

The staff were very friendly and welcoming. Service was very attentive.
Overall I would rate the hotel as good.
Too many rooms in the space available.
Could hear neighbours using the toilet and shower. Sound insulation was poor.

We just stayed for 4 nights at this hotel, and we enjoyed it tremendously. The room was small but had a great view from its sizable balcony that had its own lounge chairs and outdoor seating. The restaurant was very good with a few notable dishes (caprese, eggplant Parmigiana, fried shrimp). The bar and drinks by the pool were great, and we found the service to be friendly throughout the hotel. The view is stunning and the pool was very nice. It rained for half our stay so we didn't get to swim but lots of chairs and all were very clean. We did not use the shuttle, but that seemed very convenient. We took taxis into town and back. Be warned, because of the steep hills, the taxis down to town run about €20. We were more than happy to pay for the luxury, and we had some excellent meals at night.

This hotel is NOT a 4 star hotel. It is a 2/3 star hotel. I stay here for 5 nights and was counting down to my check out day. The views at the pool are the best. You can look at them all day. You can look at them all day. The reception staff are not very helpful. I tried to book some sightseeing tours with them and it felt like they couldn’t be bothered. I had to ask so many times.in the end I went somewhere else. The bus service is good and it run’s on time. Yes it could do with more time pick ups and drop off. The drivers were lovely and friendly.
A big shout out to the staff at Tonie’s the restaurant. The service here was 10 out 10. The staff were very friendly, kind and nice. They felt like family and they were happy to see you. Don’t let the pictures fool you. I will not be returning here again.
